The fact that the overclocker said "This means that probably 90% of the produced chips are of top range spec" does NOT mean that the yield is 90% (even if he's right). Yield is the percent of potential chips that are GOOD. This is different from MIX, which is how the GOOD chips test out at various speed and/or temperature ranges. AMD, for example, has apparently solved their MIX problems, they are reportedly getting more than 50% 233MHz chips; but it is not clear that they have solved their yield problems, e.g. it may still be the case that not very many of the dies on a wafer (potential chips) are "good", at any speed.
