" They would have gone through a liquidation."
" without hefty government aid, the assets of both companies probably would have been sold in liquidation auctions."

BTW, the blamer in chief did not save GM. the taxpayers are taking the heat with 500 million shares of GM with about 53.00 a share to break even on the bailout and today's close was what? 24.60 or so? How many billions is that especially relative to the recent market gains? And obama is still smilin that big ol dumb grin, sayin " I did it I did it"......

MEANWHILE LOOK who is in front of the campaigner in chief......you think this is one of the "working men"???? LOL! Need I tell you who this is?

>> You were very clear that you would not provide government assistance to the U.S. auto companies, even if they went through bankruptcy. You said that they could get it in the private marketplace. That wasn't true. They would have gone through a liquidation."

They would NOT have gone through a liquidation. There is no way in hell that might have happened. It isn't even remotely conceivable, and that remark shows just how little Obama knows about this subject.

This discussion is being had among the ignorant. The claim there would have been no money available is a lie, HAD GM gone through a normal process, when they came out the other side they would have been a viable business and investors would have lined up to fund it. But the corrupt process Obama used resulted in a GM that cannot survive. Which is the reason no one wants their lousy stock today.

If you understood anything at all about finance you would know this.
