I can see an Obama electoral victory with Romney winning the popular vote. Obama's base is less enthusiastic than Romney's, so they are not going to turn up huge in "safe" Democratic states, or will choose to vote their "conscience". On the other hand Obama's get the vote out operation in the key states is huge and will make a difference.

If this happens, perhaps the country will consider seriously using the popular vote to elect the President. Two presidents in a row winning without a popular majority may be too much.

Our commercial press wants a horse race all the way to Nov. 6th, and beyond if possible. Sells more papers, news shows and advertising. But, it has nothing to do with what's best for America.
