My house was built in the early 70s, electricity was cheaper than oil or gas back then. Next year I believe I'll bite the bone($8000 +/-), and put in an oil furnace,hot water baseboard. But I still will use wood as my primary heat source. I have a nice size pond with a brook coming in, and would someday like to put in a brook motor and generate a little power. It's a state regulation that, the power company has to purchase any excess power you put back into their grid system. Wouldn't that be a hoot-them paying me..LOL
