Bob- One word Globalization applied to changing economic conditions. Walmart is run as a public company. The board is suppose to do the best job for shareholders through all legal means. It's run by an elected board of directors. As a whole if the company didn't treat its employees well. I don't think they would have succeed in getting as big as they have. I don't blame them.

I can as well counter your Walmart reasoning why the Gov't (Federal & State) is just as responsible for the mess this country is in.
