Ken, I think you're right about it only taking "one good personal experience with a pc to hook you." My view though, is to not assume that one's own good personal experience with a PC (and falling prices) will necessarily be a spreading catalyst for everyone to buy a PC. Many people are simply either not at all interested, don't have the time, or are too intimidated by computers to ever even try to see the good sides of PC ownership. Another barrier is $$ to buy one.

The easy converts already have PCs and are buying 2 and 3 or more for their home.

I am very upbeat and excited about the prospects of Compaq and what they are doing at the low end, but I also try to remember that not everyone will be convinced of a PC's usefulness.
