Brazil lowers hike in international flight tax

BRASILIA, Dec 1 (Reuters) - The Brazilian government has significantly reduced a proposed hike in a departure tax for international air passengers, one of the measures included in its emergency fiscal plan, the Finance Ministry said Monday.

ADR REPORT - Emerging markets highlights

Overall, Latin American American Depositary Receipts gained strength near the end of the trading day.

''Everything's taking off,'' one dealer said in the late afternoon. ''I think there's too much money and too little bad news. And with the Dow up as much as it is, that's got to propel it some.''

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 190 to 8013.

Among the emerging markets highlights:

BRAZIL -- Telebras SA (TEL_p.SA) (NYSE:TBR - news), the bellwether telecommunciations company, rose 4-1/8 to 108-1/2.

Yeah...I think PB has been around for a long time. But it still looks like a good stock to me, based on my positive opinion on the future of Latin America.
