We're here on slender threads.

Concur

I am and have been trying to look at and evaluate our situation objectively and realistically. I've been trying to apply every solutions tool in my kit bag to safeguard my family's future.

I always try to remember that I am a product of my life experiences. Maintaining a constant high-level of preparedness was a big part of that. I have not seen any reason to change.

I have been a member of this thread for a very long time and have evaluated a lot of political happenings, but have seen nothing before like the nation's glide slope down that Obama created in the past few years.

Under Obama, our political system has failed. It has failed to do its mandated jobs.
Under Obama, our financial system is moving to the brink of failure. It seems like just a week or two ago we crossed $16 Trillion in debt. Today it is $16 Trillion $ 200 Billion. Check the debt clock.

Under Obama, our American owned and operated corporate environment has become very sick. A detailed explanation for that can be found on Ross Perot's charts. Charts that many ridiculed.

The only parts of our government that seem to be working well are the food stamp distribution network and the school free breakfast and lunch program. Have ya'll looked at Americans lately? Do they look like they need more nourishment from government borrowed money.

America is in deep trouble. Re-electing Obama will add fuel to the conglagration. Electing Romney will be no easy panacea. He will be accepting mission impossible. I am familiar with such missions and know that even impossible missions can be successfully completed. That is my fervent hope for Romney.

I agree with those who predict that cutting entitlements will be difficult and violent. We only need to look at the PIGS to confirm that there is no easy way out.

My wife and I are convinced a high level of self sufficiency is an absolute necessity in these times. That is where we are focusing our planning and our efforts.

We agree with you. "We're here on slender threads." We hope we are wrong, but we are ready if we are right.

Meanwhile, we keep on breathing and enjoying America's best.
