Good questions and I don't know the answers. I just read your post and lifted that comment out of it, showing that he had relied heavily on closing loopholes to balance the budget.

As far as Warren, I like her a lot. She has consistently fought the banking establishment and pushed for tighter regulations exactly where we need it most, using her bankruptcy law expertise and background to help her. She's fighting an uphill, losing battle against the big banks, but at least she is honorable enough to do it, despite the odds against her. In that way, she is a Democratic version of Ron Paul. She also was the one pushing for transparency and regulation of derivatives, as well as pushing for the FDIC to forbid bailouts of any of the derivatives bets on the banks portfolios. She didn't get her way on any of that, unfortunately, which is part of why Dodd-Frank is such a piece of shit. However, I hope she wins. We need more honorable Americans in power in the Senate, who are willing to stand up against the banking cartel and its criminal leaders.
