Congressman Jim Moran’s son caught on tape teaching vote fraud techniques

By: John Hayward 10/24/2012
humanevents.com

A new undercover video from James O’Keefe and Project Veritas shows Pat Moran, son of longtime incumbent congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) and field director for his father’s re-election campaign, instructing a supporter in how to use fraudulent documents to cast a hundred illegal votes:

Note that Project Veritas prominently includes the unedited raw footage of this encounter, to counter the usual whines about false editing. There’s not much question about what happens here. An undercover operative posing as a very enthusiastic supporter says he’s got a hundred names of people who probably aren’t going to vote, and he wants to cast their ballots for them.

Moran is “initially lukewarm about the idea of voting on others’ behalf,” as narrator O’Keefe puts it, suggesting that a legitimate “get out the vote” effort would be a better investment of effort… but he’s quite willing to give some helpful advice for evading the flimsy existing voter identification procedures. He’s even got tips for making sure that the prospective targets for ballot theft are truly “inactive” voters, rather than people who already voted early. It’s obviously a subject he’s given some thought to. And by the end of the conversation, he’s a lot less “lukewarm” about the idea. In fact, he thinks it’s pretty funny.

Time for some more New York Times editorials about how vote fraud never happens, better voter identification is unnecessary, and anyone who cares about protecting the integrity of our electoral system is just a racist who wants to suppress the minority vote!

Project Veritas has already gotten a high-ranking Obama campaign employee fired for her willingness to engage in vote fraud. Is Jim Moran going to fire his son now?

Update: At 5:00 PM Eastern, word from local reporters came across Twitter that Pat Moran has resigned from his father’s campaign in the wake of the Project Veritas video.

Chris Matthews, Who Used the Phrase 'Shuck and Jive,...

NewsBusters.org ^ | October 24, 2012 | Scott Whitlock

Liberal cable anchor Chris Matthews, who in 2010 used the phrase "shuck and jive," on Wednesday assailed Sarah Palin as racist for using the phrase "shuck and jive." Referring to a Facebook post the former Alaska governor wrote about Obama and Libya, Matthews ranted, "You know, a dog whistle is a dog whistle...A trumpet call is another."

The MSNBC host insisted that "shuck and jive" has "a particular ethnic connection" and "to throw it at the president as an ethnic shot is pretty blatant."

On July 7, 2010, Matthews, while talking to Rachel Maddow and her visit to Afghanistan, wondered, "What has it been like, as you shuck and jive,
hang out with the men over there, the women over there, in uniform risking their lives every day?"

The late Tim Russert also used the term on July 18, 2003.

In 2008, then-Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said of Barack Obama: "You can't shuck and jive at a press conference." Steve McMahon, a Hardball regular, talked to then-MSNBC host Tucker Carlson and demurred, "Well, that's not the way I would have put it."

On September 7, 2011, Jay Carney, a spokesman for Matthews' beloved Obama, told the press corps, "Sorry. I'm going to shuck and jive! Time to shuck and jive."

Palin entitled her Facebook post, "Obama's shuck and jive ends with Benghazi lies."

On Wednesday, Hardball guest Jonathan Alter, a former Newsweek editor, railed against Palin, "...Shuck and jive, that's like talking about watermelon... for Jews, talking about Jews are greedy or the Irish are drunk."

Apparently, shuck and jive is only racist when conservatives say it.

A transcript of the October 24 exchange is below:

5:36

CHRIS MATTHEWS: The blatantness of this thing, I think, went through the roof the other day when Sarah Palin, about whom people have mixed views put out a Facebook post entitled "Obama's shuck and jive ends with Benghazi lies" regarding to the Obama administration's handling of the attack on the Libyan embassy. You know, a dog whistle is a dog whistle, Clarence. A trumpet call is another. Shuck and jive has a particular ethnic connection, not necessarily bad in all cases, it's sort of slang. It doesn't mean evil but to throw it at the president as an ethnic shot is pretty blatant.

...

JONATHAN ALTER: Chris, I actually think my old friend Clarence is being a little bit polite. I think this is rank racism. You know, sometimes people on the right get very upset when people on the left charge racism, but, you know, shuck and jive, that's like talking about watermelon or, you know, for Jews, talking about Jews are greedy or the Irish are drunk, whatever. These are racist tropes and we need to call them what they are, and I actually think at least implicitly Trump was playing on racism today with his ridiculous stunt demanding Obama's college transcripts.

Obama's Big Libyan Lie

Tea Party Tribune ^| 2012-10-24

Fox News reports that their network obtained copies of State Department e-mails proving the Obama administration knew the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Libya was the work of an Al Qaeda-affiliated terror network and not a mob angered by an anti-Islamic video posted on YouTube.

A State Department e-mail sent to the White House Situation Room two hours after the attack reads, "Ansar al-Sharia (an Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist group) Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack."

The administration's cover story, blaming the attack on a Libyan mob angered by an American-made anti-Islamic video, was obviously meant to deflect blame from the White House for the embassy's inadequate security, especially since the attack occurred on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11.

More troubling, the anti-Islamic video cover story was repeated by administration spokespersons, which included Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and prominently mentioned in a State Department apology commercial aired in Pakistan.

The administration cover-up involved California Sheriffs Deputies, who took the video's producer in for questioning by Justice Department investigators.

That means the deadly anti-American riots that erupted across the Muslim world, where protestors specifically mentioned the YouTube video as a motive, were the unintended consequences of a botched Obama administration cover-up.

During last Monday's presidential debate, moderator Bob Schieffer of CBS News asked Obama about the attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya. "Now with respect to Libya," said Obama, "as I indicated in the last debate, when we received that phone call, I immediately made sure that, number one, that we did everything we could to secure those Americans who were still in harm's way ...."

"The United States had an unmanned Predator drone over its consulate in Benghazi during the attack that slaughtered four Americans - which should have led to a quicker military response," CBS News reported last Sunday. Gary Berntsen, formally with the CIA, told CBS, "They [the Obama administration] stood, and they watched, and our people died."

Last Monday evening, Obama said, "What we need to do with respect to the Middle East is strong, steady leadership, not wrong and reckless leadership that is all over the map."

Obama's reckless cover-up lie led to violence that threatened the lives of Americans ... "all over the map."
