no.

msft killed wordperfect with word. it killed netscape with internet explorer.

amzn is trying to kill nook with kindle.

the huge boys sell at a loss to get monopoly power and consumer is denied the better product. then, the big boy doesn't innovate as much and/or raises prices.

msft, goog, aol, adobe, orcl have you update constantly. each time you update, you screw up settings for competitors. it messes up your computer, slows you down. they send you to their apps, ads, etc. they punish you if you choose to use non msft or non goog or non aapl product or service.

>> The above is exactly the argument used by the EU in their present attack on MSFT. Who is left out in the description above? The consumer. Who doesn't give a damn about who makes the product or how they sell it, they just want the best deal they can get.

But if competition is allowed to be driven out, the consumer suffers. One can argue about how MUCH he suffers, but it is reasonable to have some protection in place against predatory pricing and other efforts to drive out competition. IMO.
