Our abilities do seem to be a gift from the gods; they certainly surpass mere mortal capabilities. I also rather like Homer's description of Cassandra in theIliad, which I translated from the original Latin in 1965 and remember perfectly-- she was "beautiful as Golden Aprhrodite". Unfortunately, no one would believe a word she said, and when she tried to warn her lover that his wife was going to kill him, he just laughed her off. Slow learner. You'd think people would've noticed when she was right about that wooden horse, but no. We must remember this when others sneer at our talent and pay us no heed. They will rue the day they ignored the beautiful Golden Rambidites.
