Since Cymer is concentrating strictly on selling and servicing the stepper market, one can safely assume that Cymer cannot fill the demand. Thus, it would be imprudent for them to branch out to other markets until they have fully ramped up and have proven to have excess manufacturing capacity. I see it as a positive sign that they are not looking for alternative uses for their laser at this point. The 600 lasers prediction for 1998 looks more and more solid every day.
