I tend to skip the "stinkers", as in Millennium, Vista... Windows 8 is mainly consumer centric. For business, you can consider it to be a stinker and can skip upgrading. Windows 7 is just fine.

If all you use is a browser, it does not matter what you use. If have some software (I have a ton of software), changing the OS is not practical...

Our testing on the pre release versions of W8 really hasn't been problematic.

I find W7 to be a reasonably good OS. We've deployed hundreds of them without any major problems. I think it just comes down to one's personal preference. I like the unix filesystem but I don't think the Mac gui really does it justice.
