With both fighter planes and troops just an hour or so away, they certainly could have launched a rescue mission to help these folks stranded in Benghazi. We have several different units in our military who eat, sleep and breathe this very type of mission ... and would gladly have answered that call.

Why Obama and Hillary, the Pentagon and the CIA, and all the rest just apparently all sat back and watched the entire event, and didn't utilize our capabilities to at least make an effort to try to get some boots on the ground to help in the situation .. will probably remain a mystery to most.

I believe it would have boosted Obama's stature in the campaign had he taken decisive action to "stop this small band of Al Queda connected terrorists", much more than playing it the way they tried to do, which was to deny the facts. But no, Obama is too narcissistic to even do that. Well, it's backfired on him now, and hopefully he will be held accountable, as Hillary also should be.
