John,

It was just wishful thinking on my part about Intel. Once I remember thinking, please let Intel go into the 70's just one more time, but I didn't think it would take a global economic misery to come on to make it happen. And for Intel to see 60? I think we'd be seeing elephants flyin by at the same time.

John,

OFF TOPIC

Tom Kurlak at ML cut his earnings estimates on some of the semis at 1302 today. At 1502 TXN was off 4 5/16. My broker wants me to hold off on INTC until it is in the mid/low 70s and TXN until it is in the mid 40s (which implies to me that Kurlak may cut estimates on INTC). Since even CPQ is cutting deals with AMD and Cyrix, we may see some softening in INTC again, however, if it breaks 75, I'm buying.

Just remember, if I really knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be working for a living!

Regards,

Rich
