I have been using a Global Village 56kflex modem for several months now and its speed, especially downloading is impressive. I had to reconnect my 28k Global Village modem for a week when I lent my new one to a friend...once you've had the speed, it hurts to give it up.Also, their FaxCenter software is the best I've seen.

Francis,

Is the GV modems support both protocals in one modem? If it is less than 10% more than the single standard solution then it is good since it should be 99.9% upgradable to ITU standard. If the price is high then there is little reason to get it. The protocal you need is the one supported by your ISP (unless you change ISP frequently).

I recommend USR because it is too popular. I bet all the modem pool installed are tested against the USR for compatibility. Besides, they are among the faster performer across the board. My experience with Zoom are very good but don't like the Supra (Diamond).
