These tear down guys are saying a BOM of around $160 per including manufacturing.

So assuming Apple, the king of supply chain and worlds largest component buyer is anywhere close, $329 should be pretty good GM%. Even with a larger (lower resolution) screen. And the upgrade models... more memory and/or cellular data should have even better gross. Aluminum doesn't cost that much more than plastic.

Something doesn't compute.... to my mind. The whole guide to way low GP% doesn't make sense. A piece of the puzzle is missing.
