Incredible news. One caveat..........this poll was done by the DSCC. I'd like to see a confirming one from an independent pollster. Second caveat...........446 is a small sampling/bigger is better.....and I'll stop there. ;)

Rep. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) has jumped to a 7-point lead over Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock (R) in their race for a U.S. Senate seat, in the wake of Mourdock's controversial comment that pregnancies resulting from rape are "something God intended to happen," according to a poll conducted for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The poll, which shows Donnelly leading Mourdock by 47 to 40 percent, was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday, in the midst of the media firestorm over the remark. Mourdock released an internal poll earlier on Friday from the same period showing the race tied.

The poll of 446 likely voters was conducted by the Democratic firm Anzalone Liszt Research from Oct. 24-25 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.
