I'm sorry if this sounds at all cold and cruel, but I don't recall seeing your personal checks when I was paying for my family. You are right, and maybe I needed some tough love. My only question, sadness, concern, or whatever you want to call it is that when my money runs out, which I worked two jobs for over the last 25 years to earn, neither of us will have much to show for it simply because she is sick. I always thought I did things the right way; paid for insurance, health, homeowners, car, etc. pay my mortgage although I am under water, never even let her accept a student loan or pell grant because I always pay my way, and never walked away from a bill or asked for help paying one. It is tough to stomach the fact that I will need to advise her to keep dodging hospital bills, or get pregnant so she can qualify for Medicaid. Hospital care of course costs more for everyone because her hospital care is THE most expensive there could be, yet she has not yet been turned away and until she has no other recourse than a hospital, she can do nothing. I will need to relocate and become an exp-pat so that I can afford to live longer and cheaper, and fortunately I make good money in the market to help with her bills, but that kind of life was never even a thought ten years ago, and is a personally sad ending to what was a joyous story of a pre-med student who one day just got sick. It is what it is, and I appreciate your honesty, but I can tell you that many HAVE come to me asking for help over the years, and they have received it because I had it, so had you asked, you might have been surprised at the answer.

It is not a legitimate question, and you have already made up your mind. Actually it WAS a legitimate question. I am not a fan of Obama, find him to be problematic in many ways, but as for most people my votes boil down to my personal issues. I asked a real question, because I have not heard the answer from the Governor, nor can I find the answer on his website, so I have to presume what the answer it. If OCare is repealed, yes it will mean that most of her life she is uninsured, because it will be another generation before something like healthcare reform comes up again, and in the meantime, what will be left of her life won't really be significantly affected by any healthcare legislation. It's life, period. Some people are born in the ghettos of India. We have been lucky.
