This is what someone posted on her wall today at FB: My car bumper is plastered with bumper stickers. My car often gets keyed by angry strangers offended by my support for gay marriage and Obama, hardly radical ideas in my opinion. My Facebook page unapologetically screams my political opinion over and over ad nauseum. I've created my own little MSNBC/Internet-fueled echo chamber, and I'm fairl y certain some of my more right-leaning friends have blocked me on Facebook by now or de-friended me. I think it's important to stand strong behind my core beliefs, to speak my mind loudly and proudly. I can't believe I'm fighting this hard for the re-election of a man who, in my earlier years, could have run as a moderate Republican. I'm fighting for my daughters, for the 47%, for a return to a world unscarred by misogyny, homophobia, racism, fear and science-denying. I'm fighting for a Supreme Court likely to uphold challenges to Roe vs. Wade. I'm fighting for the end of unnecessary wars in the Middle East and for nation-building at home. I'm fighting for an end to the Neo-Cons and Fox News and faith-based extremism and Citizens United. I'm fighting for an end to this do-nothing Republican Congress and their tax cuts for the rich. I'm fighting to defeat Paul Ryan and his Draconian budget. I'm fighting to defeat Romney and his Zelig-style shape-shifting pandering. I'm fighting voter suppression. As soon as this is over I'll go back to posting about more mundane matters. Bear with me. VOTE. And please talk sense to everyone you know.
