I think it's a little over the top to just say the GOP created the mess. Obama surely did inherit a big mess, though. That I'll grant you. However, he has done nothing but make it worse. At the end of the day, both parties are profligate spenders. The GOP likes to spend on the military and the Dems like to spend it on welfare. The problem is that neither party likes to raise taxes to do that spending, so we end up with giant deficits. I'm a social liberal and actually don't mind providing a safety net for people. I find that far preferable to military spending. However, what I do mind is putting the bill on future generations. That's theft. If we want giant spending on welfare, then at least the Dems and Obama should have the courage to raises the taxes to do it or not do the spending. I will never be for spending more than we raise in taxes. It's immoral.
