Your points are excellent. Also, currency factors can sometimes mostly or more than offset a decline in foreign markets (which is usually reported in local currency by our media) - This is way too advanced stuff for The FOOLS. I'm not convinced that foreign markets will move in unison with the US markets on a go-forward basis because we're in a global economy now. Look how difficult a time the European countries are having trying to align their economies so they can partake in one currency - the ECU starting in 1999 (maybe!). I still am a believer in international diversification and like BB's 10-10-5 allocation.
