We did take in a tango show and though it was expensive IMO it was well worth it.... I've never been much a fan of the accordion but the squeeze boxes they use have an interesting sound. The dancers we saw were top notch and the dinner was quite good:

Unfortunatelly none of the pictures I took of the floor show came out.....

Did you manage to get to La Boca? I thought that was a interesting bario and tourist trap. We bought some pretty cool hand made art that wasn't too expensive:

None of these paintings.....lol

As far as the statist state goes it's pretty pervasive.... We were on our way to the Plaza de Mayo, we had gone a little over half way when our taxi got cut off by a forming protest. I was told by our driver that it was a teachers protest and that they were always the first to ask for more and protest to get it..... Sound familiar? lol.
They were blocks away and we were in stalled traffic trying to detour when I noticed the cabby reaching over to lock Michi's door....hhhmmm.

We learned through Masa who'd lived in BA the last 30 years that most of what he did revolved taking advantage of gov't programs one of which allowed him to purchase things cheaper via a debit style card, all subsidized by the gov't. No one here trusts banks, nor do they have any money deposited. Masa had a bank account but years ago, the last time they screwed up their currency, he had most of it confiscated by the bank.... Most people stick their money in cars and real estate........ Ooops, gtg see how the boy's doing.... Later skin......
