¿ when we're in a depression?

We're not.

Thanks to Obama and Bernanke.

No thanks to the Tea Party or John Boehner.

China takes raw materials and turns them into goods which we buy. The prices of the raw materials is in a major long term uptrend thanks to Greenspand and Bernanke. Bernake continues to print money, making this trend likely to continue and accelarate.

Yes, they are in long term up trends when you look at them over a period of 40 years. However for the past ten years some of those commodities have moved sideways. And since the great recession, we have not seen any inflationary behavior except with food which is more effected by weather conditions and the making of ethanol and biodiesel than by Bernanke's policies.

Since the lastest horse you've been riding has been the "20 year horse", except when you went to a 5 year chart to try and show copper wasnt' "pretty much the same" as corn (it is if you look at the same time frame... in fact, thanks for pointing out the copper is HITTING ALL TIME HIGHS lately).

I don't know WTH you're talking about. Go back and look at the copper chart.........the current price of copper is less than what it was in 2007. Basically it has been moving sideways for the past 5 years according to that chart.

So why don't you just tell us YOUR version:

Can fill us in on how commodity prices can possibly be so much higher in the worst economic calamity since the 30's than during most the boom the preceeded it?? That should simplify the point for you?

And here's a chart of the CRB to keep it simple:

During the last 4 years, the weekly chart you posted is pretty much range bound. There is no clear direction either way. In other words, you are not making your point about Bernanke.

How can this be?? How can commodities be TRIPLE the price from when Clinton was in office when we're in a depression?

Now you are expanding the time horizon from the Clinton years to the present and its not about Bernanke. Is that what you are saying?

BTW I am not surprised commodity prices are up since the Clinton years. During that period of time, Brazil, Russia, India and China [BRIC] have experienced dramatic economic growth and come into their own as major economies. They are big economies needing lots of resources. At the same time, the earth's easily accessible resources are getting depleted......particularly when it comes to oil and gold. Its not surprising that commodity prices have gone up since Clinton........in fact, I am surprised that you are surprised.

However, to blame that increase on Bernanke's recession policies which have been in place since 2008 is ridiculous. And I repeat since the great recession, most commodity prices have moved sideways despite the policies implemented by Bernanke. I don't think you have a viable argument.
