If we were to go by that, than let's just shut down all the political threads on SI and wait for Nov 6.

But if we want to have some idea of what is going on today, here are a couple of things to consider:

Rasmunsen party ID, Nov 2008: D + 7.6%
Rasmunsen party ID, Sep 2012: R + 2.6%

10.2% swing to GOP

Gallup party ID 2008: D + 10%
Gallup party ID 2012: R + 1%

11% swing to GOP

We can argue how much exactly the electorate has moved from Dem to GOP from 2008 to 2012. Maybe by less than 11%.

But when you have a poll (such as the Florida PPP(D) poll), and the only way they could produce Obama lead by using a sample that has moved 2% to Democrats, I am just calling BS on that one....

Dude, why are you so sure that PPP is the outlier? Why not the House of Raz.........which has a very definite R bias. As for Gallup they have been wrong for several years now.........I pay them little attention.

Nonetheless, we'll know better on 6 November.........no point arguing with you because your mind is about as open as a steel trap.
