It's a good point on the MIC. However, please keep in mind that we have WIC (Welfare Industrial Complex) that actually spends a lot more money than the MIC. If we are to ever get to a point where we aren't plundering our children's future to feel good today, then we need to reign both in and raise taxes to cover what spending we feel is sustainable. We need to balance our budget. So I see the problem to be bipartisan. The GOP won't cut military spending and the Dems won't cut welfare spending. And neither wants to raise taxes. So the bottom line is that this ship is going to go down and the consequences will be catastrophic for Americans and it will have ripple effects across the globe.
