> perhaps this is a straight up internal power play on Cook's part

Everything is subjective and subject to semantics I guess.

My interpretation is that Forestall was continually pushing himself in power plays, and due to his closeness to Jobs and his long tenure going back to NeXT he thought he deserved to be CEO. He was probably depressed and angry when Jobs chose Cook instead. My guess is his goal was to become CEO eventually. Cook correctly saw that Forestall should have been focusing on doing his job period, making amazing products, not political career moves.

Wow. In ANY case. The long and tangled road of Jobs and Apple continues to be a fascinating story! Who would have thought it would continue that?
