I have little idea whether Forstall was fired for his personality or for his performance. I will only say that I have thought iOS has been stagnant for quite a while and can only hope that a shakeup changes that. You can only pursue a strategy of small refinements to the OS for so long before you wake up to discover that competitors have passed you by.

Whom did you mean? Forstall? I don't recall him being lauded or recognized as a visionary.
