Bentway;

<<<<<Cycles that destroyed fortunes and futures for millions, every ten years.>>>>>

The Chinese have a saying; "may you live in interesting times".

The meaning they give to that statement is much more than the simple words imply. To them "interesting times" means opportunity. The fortunes that were destroy that you mention were inefficient businesses. The businesses didn't disappear, they got bought up by more efficient managers. Buffett says he is salivating to buy a 20 billion dollar company and if he doesn't get one soon he'll buy a 30 billion dollar company. His money has meaning because he is a shrewd, hard working and a talented capitalist. The companies he buys - just like the inefficient companies during the turn of last century will be better off as will America. AND - and here is the takeaway point - these new found efficiencies and jobs will be accomplished entirely by market forces and private funds that aren't borrowed. They are funded by private money - not tax payer borrowed dollars.
