Though I have no doubt that Forstall has a lot of talent, I haven't been very comfortable with a lot of the things I've heard about him.

History is written by the winners.

FYI. Flash works on my brand new Windows RT computer, a Microsoft Surface. In browser. No download. At least for movies and the extended programmatic features used by YouTube, like in-video links, tags, etc.. It really is an Adobe player that ships with the OS. On the right-click (tap and hold) menu, the standard Adobe options and the player version are displayed. Even 'copy hyperlink at current time index'.

I note they didn't say Forstall was responsible for the Maps screw up - only that he wouldn't sign a written apology for it. It would be ironic beyond belief if Forstall was the internal voice of reason saying Maps couldn't be done well in a year, while Cook was insistent on driving Apple headlong over the No-More-Google cliff.

Hopefully one day we'll get the other side of the story, because it seems pretty clear to me right now we're only getting the official company line.
