I totally understand what you are saying, however, Cook does not want to end up with "Yes Man" type of leaders who always agrees with him and the rest of his team. The question now is why the most successful person in software in the entire universe got fired and why did he survive all these years under the leadership of SJ? Again, I believe it came to Steve Job's ability to keep the ship sailing along with all these amazing people with superior brain power, crazy personalities, and God gifted capabilities. I am sure SJ enjoyed having these different personalities around him. He enjoyed having people around him that did not get along with each other and everyone of them competed with the other to get closer to SJ. Steve knew how to interact with each of these leaders and how he played one against the other to get the best product out there. Now when it comes to the new hire --- Cook hired him and Cook approved all the retail decisions that this new executive put in place in the first few months in his role. Now after a year, one senior leader wanted to retire, one new leader got hired and fired within six months, and the OS guru is fired. This to me sounds like Cook is looking for personalities that he can manage and he is looking for like minded people in his team. These latest changes in my opinion are not very healthy. Mistakes do happen but Cook should find out the root cause of the mistakes and learn from them. All my opinion and again what do I know about these things :)
