I thought the G3 Powerbooks are almost 2X as fast as the 3400 in processor intensive tasks by most accounts.

This little gem was in the Austrialian article that Marc linked:

Meantime, the Cupertino-based Apple Store, for US customers only, seems to be doing box office business. Sales of $US1.4 million were made in the first two days and Apple is considering how it might expand the inventory, probably taking in Apple Design gear and third-party items such as software and books.

While 2 days is not much data, $1.4 million is fairly impressive. What's more impressive is the rest of the quote! Anybody seen any stats on the Apple Store's success?
