Republicans Have Won Every November 6th Presidential Election Since 1860
by John Sexton
Oct 31 2012, 2:41 AM PDT

Here's one more historical curiosity to observe this election cycle. Since election day was standardized in 1845 there have been 6 presidential elections held on November 6th and Republicans have won all six. That means next Tuesday, the 7th Presidential election held on this date, will either break or uphold a streak that began in 1860 with the election of Abraham Lincoln.

Starting in 1792, states had a range of dates on which to conduct presidential elections, but in 1845 Congress standardized the date so it would always be the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Since then presidential elections have been held on dates ranging from November 2nd to November 8th with each date coming up about six times in a fairly regular pattern. The date November 6th has always been a good one for Republicans:
• 1860 - Abraham Lincoln over Stephen Douglas
•1888 - Benjamin Harrison over incumbent Grover Cleveland
•1900 - William McKinley over William Jennings Bryan
•1928 - Herbert Hoover over Al Smith
•1956 - Dwight Eisenhower over Adlai Stevenson
•1984 - Ronald Reagan over Walter Mondale

Which brings us to November 6th, 2012 where it's Mitt Romney in a tight race with the incumbent Barack Obama. Will the Republicans' lucky streak hold or will Obama make history as the first Democrat to win on that date despite plunging poll numbers? We'll know in a week (or so).

In case you're wondering, the 2016 election will be held on November 8th. It will be the 7th presidential election on this date since 1845. The prior six were evenly split with three going to Democrats (Cleveland, FDR, Kennedy) and the other three to Republicans (Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, G.H.W. Bush).

Breaking: Eric Holder’s wife co-owns abortion clinic building run by indicted abortionist

jillstanek.com

Thanks to pro-lifers Michelle Wolven and Catherine Davis, a small group of us have been on this story for weeks.

While Michelle and Catherine were digging through online records of Georgia abortion clinics, they stumbled on the fact that Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife Sharon Malone Holder (both pictured right) co-owns with her sister an Atlanta area abortion clinic building.

The building is located at 6210 Old National Highway, College Park, Georgia.

The business itself is called Old National GYN. Click on deed above and see below…

The story was so big, Catherine handed it off to Watchdog.org reporter Troy Anderson.

Anderson’s article, “Holder’s family papers over his ties to abortion doctor,” was published in Human Events today.

Anderson’s story deepens beyond the obvious breaking news that Sharon Holder, an OB/GYN herself, co-owns a building – and has for many years – that operates as an abortion clinic.

Clinic abortionist indicted on Medicaid charges

What’s more, the abortionist at Old National, Tyrone Cecile Malloy, was indicted last year by a Georgia grand jury on charges of Medicaid fraud.

The paper trail backward, according to Anderson:

The same tax records show the building was formerly owned by Dr. Mack A. Jones, late husband of another of Holder’s sister-in-laws, Vivian Malone Jones. Her death, announced in an Oct. 14, 2005 obituary in The Washington Post, reported that she was Malone Holder’s sister.

The other two sisters apparently inherited the building at that time.

Paper trail cover-up attempt

Anderson further detailed how, after he alerted the Holders and sister co-owner Margie Malone Tuckson 0f the information he had, requesting comment, the family quickly moved to put the abortion clinic building into a blind trust.

Explains a lot

Pro-lifers agree Holder’s ties to the abortion industry explain a lot – his attacks against pro-life activists and that he looks the other way on abortion industry skulduggery. Details Anderson:

Critics say it may also explain why Holder has been eager to prosecute pro-life advocates who counsel women outside abortion clinics….

“There is a clear conflict of interest when the man charged with pursuing those that abuse the system is also one who is engaged in some way with the business,” said Davis, whose organization brought the issue to the attention of Watchdog….

In recent months, judges have blocked Holder’s efforts to punish pro-life supporters counseling women outside abortion clinics. In one case, Holder’s Department of Justice agreed to pay Mary “Susan” Pine $120,000 for its filing of an “improper lawsuit” against her, according to a statement by Liberty Counsel, an Orlando, Fla.-based nonprofit legal firm. Pine counseled women on the sidewalk outside a Florida abortion clinic….

Karen Handel, the former secretary of state in Georgia and a former senior vice president of public policy for the Susan G. Komen Center, said she was “shocked” by the findings of the Watchdog investigation.

“It certainly underscores the deep ties the Obama Administration has to the abortion issue,” said Handel, author of the new book, Planned Bullyhood : The Truth Behind the Headlines about the Planned Parenthood Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“This certainly seems to shed some additional light into why Obama and his team seem obsessed with protecting Planned Parenthood and abortion rights at the expense of other important issues in the country.”…

Davis pointed to cases in which activists have sued Planned Parenthood for alleged Medicaid fraud – in Georgia, Iowa, Texas, New York, and Massachusetts – but where Holder’s Justice Department has failed to act.

“The U.S. attorney general has not at all pursued a case against any of them, including this one in Georgia where his wife owns the property,” Davis said.

Also add to the mix the DOJ’s October decision not to investigate an Indiana abortion clinic Allen County Right to Life alleges is violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Ohio Voting Count 'Nightmare' Looms

Thursday, 01 Nov 2012 By David A. Patten and Jim Meyers

With the presidential election expected to hinge on Ohio, the state’s former secretary of state, GOP stalwart Kenneth Blackwell, is warning that a little-known change in the Buckeye State’s absentee-ballot process could lead to a “nightmare scenario.”

And that scenario could force the entire country to wait 10 days after the election to find out who will be the next president of the United States. It’s a complicated situation, to say the least, but one that could have a far-reaching impact on the Nov. 6 election process.

For the first time in the key swing state’s history, Blackwell says, virtually all Ohio voters this year were mailed an application for an absentee ballot. In previous elections, most Ohio voters had to request an application for an absentee ballot to receive one.

The concern is that thousands of Ohio voters may complete the absentee-ballot application and receive an absentee ballot, but not bother to complete and mail in the ballot.

Anyone who is sent an absentee ballot — including those who do not complete it and mail it in — and later shows up at the polls on Election Day to cast their ballot in person will be instructed to instead complete a provisional ballot.

And under Ohio election law, provisional ballots cannot be opened until 10 days after an election.

“I would just say that this is a potential nightmare-in-waiting,” says Blackwell.

Blackwell believes that could result in an unprecedented number of provisional ballots being filed – some 250,000 or more. Such a large number of ballots being held, presumably under armed guard, for 10 days until they can be opened, would bring to mind the historic 2000 post-election battle in Florida. That recount was marked by ballot disputes — and inevitably, lawsuits.

“You’re talking about craziness for 10 days,” Blackwell tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview. “They won’t even be opened to be counted for 10 days.”
According to a report by Barry M. Horstman of the Cincinnati Enquirer, absentee-ballot applications were mailed to 6.9 million of Ohio’s 7.8 million registered voters.

As of Oct. 26, Ohio election officials had mailed out 1.3 absentee ballots. Of those absentee ballots, 950,000 had been completed and mailed back in.
That leaves some 350,000 absentee ballots that had been requested and sent to voters, but had not yet been received.

Ohio voters who requested an absentee ballot, but did not complete it and mail it back in, will not be allowed to vote normally.

Explains Blackwell: “So they go to the polls and say, ‘I want my ballot.’ And [poll workers] say, ‘Oh, we see you applied for an absentee ballot.’ The voter says, ‘Oh, I changed my mind.’ And they say, ‘That’s well and good, but we have to guarantee that you don’t vote twice. You have to fill out a provisional ballot.’”

Provisional ballots are used whenever someone shows up at the polls whose eligibility to vote cannot be immediately verified. Their name may not show up on the voter rolls, for example.

Rather than turn them away, state election officials typically have those individuals indicate their voting preference with a provisional ballot. Once their eligibility to vote has been established, the vote can be counted.

The use of provisional ballots is intended to prevent any voter from casting one ballot by mail, and then a second ballot at the polling place.

Ohio’s current secretary of state, Republican Jon Husted, pushed for the absentee-ballot applications to go out to all voters, according to Blackwell.
In previous Ohio elections, a few counties would automatically send out absentee-ballot applications to all their residents, while the vast majority of counties would not. Husted sought to make the absentee ballot process uniform across Ohio’s 88 counties.

In a news release, Husted said the new system would “help reduce the chance of long lines at the polls during the presidential election, and voters in smaller counties will have the same conveniences as voters in larger counties.”

No one can say how many absentee ballots will remain outstanding as of Election Day. Ohio voters have until Nov. 3 to request an absentee ballot. Election officials will accept and count absentee ballots as long as they are postmarked by Nov. 5, the day before the election.

Ordinarily, the number of provisional ballots outstanding in Ohio probably would be inconsequential. In 2008, according to the Enquirer, only about 70,000 were actually cast.

But uncertainly over perhaps a quarter-million votes would be a serious concern in Ohio, given the historically close margins of victory there.

Democrat Jimmy Carter carried Ohio by only about 11,000 votes over incumbent Republican President Gerald Ford in 1976. In 2004, GOP President George W. Bush carried the state by 118,775 votes over Democratic Sen. John Kerry, in a controversial finish that occurred during Blackwell’s tenure as secretary of state.

As of Wednesday, the RealClearPolitics average of polls in Ohio showed President Barack Obama leading GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney by 2.4 percent. That site, and many others, rate the contest as a toss-up.

No Republican has ever won the presidency without carrying Ohio. The Obama campaign has rested its re-election hopes on a firewall strategy that hinges on winning Ohio’s 18 Electoral College votes. Doing so would greatly complicate Romney’s path to garnering the 270 Electoral College votes needed to capture the presidency.

If the voter turnout in Ohio matches the 2008 level of 67 percent, some 5,226,000 votes would be cast. Under that scenario, 250,000 provisional ballots would amount to 4.8 percent of the entire vote — well over the current difference between the two candidates, according to RealClearPolitics poll average.

Other than Horstman’s report in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Ohio’s provisional ballot issue has largely flown under the radar of the national political press.

Blackwell tells Newsmax that given the uncertainty over how voters may respond to the widespread, unsolicited invitation to obtain an absentee ballot, the potential for a 10-day delay “is a major concern in terms of the management of a process that is perceived as being free, fair, and as unsuspenseful as possible.”

Hamilton County Board of Elections director Amy Searcy echoes Blackwell’s concern. She told the Enquirer that a 10-day lag while the entire nation waited for Ohio to declare who won its election “would be called my nightmare scenario.”

Matt McClellan, press secretary for the Ohio Secretary of State’s office, tells Newsmax it will be late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning before a final tally is available of how many absentee provisional ballots have been cast.
He confirmed that 2012 marks the first election year in which virtually all registered voters in Ohio were sent absentee ballot applications.

He said the department has not made any projections on how that change might impact absentee and provisional ballot voting trends. However, he emphasized that the vote-counting process in Ohio will be reliable, secure, and in accord with the state’s election laws.

“I disagree with the Enquirer story,” said McClellan. “There is not a nightmare scenario for Ohio.

“If the margin is too close, and we’re just not able to tell definitely at that point, that doesn’t mean anything bad has happened in Ohio. It means the process is proceeding as is required under law. So, will we have outstanding absentees and provisional ballots? Yes. We don’t know how many yet; we won’t know until Election Day.”

McClellan emphasized that every legal ballot will be counted.

Blackwell agrees there is no way to know yet how many provisional ballots Ohio will ultimately have to count, or if the nation might have a 10-day cliffhanger before the winner of the presidential election is known.

But he adds, “It is not an unreasonable scenario to plan against, given that this is the first time in the history of the state that every registered voter got mailed – unrequested – an absentee ballot [application].”

Right and the church does good things with the money. Which is more than I can say for our government.

Government: America's New God
By Lloyd Marcus
January 13, 2013

I was around nine years old when Dad took me to see the movie The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston, at the Town Theater in downtown Baltimore. It was a big deal for us because the theater had just begun admitting blacks.

Etched in my brain is the scene when Moses came down from the mountain to witness the Israelites engrossed in an orgy of self-indulgence, celebrating the new god they created, a golden calf. They had abandoned God to worship a man-made false god.

I chastised fellow black Christians for worshiping a false god of skin-color, monolithically voting to give Obama a second term despite their awareness of his anti-biblical agenda. However, I have come to realize that the insidious spirit of anti-Christ emanating from the Obama administration has spread far and wide.

All historical rules for winning and losing elections do not apply to Obama. His political bullying power and irrational status as a cult hero are unprecedented.

But here is the kicker and the scariest truth about America's zombie-like loyalty to Obama. On November 6, 2012, half the country, which includes millions of Christians, chose a Democrat and media man-made "golden man" idol as their "new" Lord and Savior. Amazingly, actor and Obama disciple Jamie Foxx admitted it.

While Obama appears to be the "golden" idol and focus of worship, America's real new false god is government, hidden behind Obama's well-crafted shiny gold exterior.

The Israelites surrendered the gold items (their inheritance) brought with them from Egypt to build their new golden calf idol. In like fashion, Democrats and the media convinced millions of Americans to surrender their biblical principles, freedom, and liberty (their birthright) to build a golden idol of government. Many Americans have abandoned God to worship government, a new supposed all-powerful and all-giving man-made false god. Dear Lord, help us!

The Bible warns that false prophets will arise and deceive many (Matthew 24:4-5).

Obama is a false prophet. He persuaded millions to vote their vested interest, sacrificing biblical principles, law, freedom, and liberty. I am hearing of more black Christian pastors, in worship of their new god Obama/government, coming out in favor of gay marriage. While Jesus praised investors and rebuked the coward afraid to invest in the parable of the talents, Obama has demonized investors -- branding them reckless and greedy.

God's word says prosperity is achieved via hard work. "You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you" (Psalms 128:2).

Proverbs 10:4: "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth."

Obama, in essence, calls God a liar by declaring that prosperity is achieved via government redistribution.

Rest assured: Democrats and the media will pull out all the stops to make Obama's second inauguration just short of the second coming -- an All-Hail-Our-King/Messiah spectacular. I wouldn't put it past Obama's special effects buddies in Hollywood to arrange for his entrance to feature him descending from the heavens on a cloud as Beyoncé and a mass choir sings "Hosanna to Our King."

As in the movie The Ten Commandments, Obama's inauguration will be an orgy of idolatry in worship of the left's golden man, who is really fronting for their god, government. Millions will offer up tears of admiration.

The American left (Socialists/Progressives) are elated. Finally, there is a new god in town, and it ain't the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and our Founding Fathers. Is the left's jubilation justified? Do a majority of Americans now look to Obama/government to supply all their needs, including deciding who lives and who dies (death panels buried in ObamaCare), rather than the God on which our country was founded?

Unquestionably, Obama's re-election has emboldened his disciples to politically bludgeon us into submission to their Godless agenda. For example: Obama-ites are attempting to bully/punish the pope and the Catholic Church for not embracing homosexuality.

Using typical Democrat tactics of lies and misdirection, Obama-ites claimed that conservatives had a "War on Women" while hiding their real horrific War on Babies. Planned Parenthood's annual report showed record profits and a record number of abortions: 333,964 in 2011. I wonder if the geniuses who could have cured cancer and AIDS were among the murdered.

Taxpayers, against their will, funded PP with $542 million. Further usurping divine authority and sticking his finger in the eye of God, Obama has decreed (mandated in ObamaCare) that Christians will fund abortion and contraceptive services against their faith.

My fellow Americans, we are in the midst of a cultural and spiritual war for the heart, mind, and soul of America. Moses asked, "Who is on the Lord's side, let him come unto me." I ask the same.
