Four million Windows 8 upgrades in four days? OK, that's pretty good.. But what does it have to do with the success of the tablet? Is I've explained repeatedly: "Metro applications" AKA "Modern applications", AKA "Microsoft UI Applications" AKA "Windows Store Applications" (We're told this last name is the official one,. again, LOL) ... those targetting the WinRT runtime, run on both platforms; the runtime is common to both Windows 8 and Windows RT. This is something you should concern yourself with because there likely will be a couple hundred million of these next year. I certainly don't have any more information about Surface initial weekend sales than you do. But I do know that a toy is a toy; people generally spend real money on real productivity tools.
