It's not the austerity. It's the piling on of debt on top of more debt. Austerity is just living within your means. But when no one understands that the solution is to repudiate the debt, then it doesn't matter whether you do austerity or spend like a drunken sailor. Nothing will work for long, because the debt is unsupportable.

You are focused on the wrong things, as are most Americans. The debt is the problem.
