C2, I have watched the USA for decades and read about the centuries of it. So I have gained a fairly good idea of the extent of the presidential power, never mind the details of what the constitution says. < you really and truly have no clue, not the slightest, concerning the power of the presidency in the U.S.
> The constitution does not say "The President shall determine which hotels to burgle and whether Obamacare death panels shall be done by the state or from Washington". Nor does it say that the president can disappear Americans from the street, deciding whether it will be habeas corpus or have corpses without trial if he names them as terrorists.

I recall the Cuban nuclear war drama too. It was highly scary to a youngster in Mangere Bridge to wonder whether doom would strike on my watch when I had barely got out of my cot.

There might have been a bit of exaggeration about how circumscribed the presidential power is, but you know what I mean. My point was really that epicure is probably not panicked about a loss. Just as I'm not panicked about a win. It will be less than ideal if Obama wins, but it's already less than ideal if Romney wins.

Either way, it's near enough for government work.
