Next week, voters will decide whether to give Obama a second term or put Romney in the White House. Unless the state polls are dramatically wrong or there are further surprises in store for the election, the nod seems likely to go to the incumbent.

That would set the stage for an open contest for the White House in 2016 that would hopefully bring fresh faces to the fore (please, please not a match between Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton).

It would not be far-fetched after seeing these two governors in action this week to speculate that it could be a race between Chris Christie and Andrew Cuomo.
