Check out RCP's electoral college map:

realclearpolitics.com

It shows Romney with 191 votes that are either solid or leaning towards Romney. He would need 79 more votes to get to 270.

There are 146 electoral college votes categorized as "toss-ups" which includes PA and MI which will almost certainly go to Obama. So there would then be 110 left as "toss-ups". If Ohio goes to Obama, there would be 92 left as "toss-ups".

So can Romney win 79 of the 92? Very improbable given that the states making up the 92 votes are very close races with Obama leading in a few but within the margin of error. So if Ohio goes to Obama, Romney can only win the required 79 votes by sweeping most of the remaining "toss-up" states.

I think the Romney campaign's sudden focus on PA, MI and MN is an attempt to peel off one or two of those states to make up for OH which their internal polling probably shows is not winnable with barely four days left before the election.

For those who are wary of RCP's electoral map, check out Karl Rove's electoral college map.
