One can understand if there was pre-attack negligence and mistakes/misjudgements related to the security at the consulate in Benghazi..

What I fail to understand is the apparently lack of response by national leadership in ordering any available assets to deploy to Benghazi (planes.. etc) to make sure the local leadership on the ground had options available to them.. Or at least a glaring signal that we were preparing to defend out consulate..

We could have had fighter aircraft buzzing that Consulate within an hour.. We also could have requested any and all immediate support from our NATO allies in the area..

I have to ask why this didn't happen..
