If he actually said that in a context that doesn't indicate something else, then he was wrong.
He was quick to say, "I'm kidding! I'm kidding!"

But it wouldn't have mattered if he were a conservative. He would have been crucified on the spot.

At the end of the clip, he said he was kidding........twice.........suggesting he was going for the laugh.

But more importantly, I thought entertainers like Rush and Maher could say whatever they want because you see they are entertainers.
