Hey Ted, let me say something severely racist, according to that "study." Koreans and other minorities overcame prejudice and worked their way up. Blacks should do the same without special favors. See the problem there? Any answer that doesn't favor African-Americans or Hispanics is deemed to be "racist." Your comment reflects more insensitivity and a lack of awareness than racism. And that's because Koreans were never slaves in this country, and have not experienced the level of discrimination that blacks and to a lesser extent Latinos have suffered. I have done lots of phone banking in 2008 and 2012. The way whites respond to my calls is very, very different from the way blacks and Latinos respond to my calls. Blacks are defensive and guarded; Latinos are subservient and guarded. Whites sound much more confident and can be very dismissive. Purely anecdotal........I know but I suspect these responses are very reflective of the positions the three ethnic groups command in this culture. Another sign of your lack of awareness...........surprisingly so since you have lived in CA for over 10 years but those who originate from Latin America prefer to be called Latinos; not Hispanics. The term Hispanics suggests you originate from the Hispanic Peninsula.....either Spain or Portugal. Latin America fought hard to break from Spain. Finally, I wonder what Koreans are like when they live in China.
