Arnie, thanks for both lessons. I was missing step three. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him a duck.

Bub, thanks for moving the WSJ article over here. Looking forward to your report after the PW analyst talks to Nextel.

The fact that even Nextel has under-estimated the popularity and utilization of its products is very significant. In most start up enterprises the opposite is the case. Over- optimism is a leading cause of new business failers. I would guess that Nextel in preparing it business plan was very generous in projecting growth. So for the company to now state that it underprojected, is in my view, a very positive statement and makes the future look much closer and much brighter.

IMO, Arnie is correct and new subscribers will exceed 400k. Moreover, since the trend on new adds is accelerating higher, I think the same will be true regarding ARPU's. I predict they will exceed $70. ARPU's for 3Q were about $70 and only $65 for the nine months ending 9/30/97. Believe the ARPU's for the 2Q were in the neighborhood of $68. The trend on ARPU's is clearly up.

Talk to you later, I'm off to cut, paste and copy.
