I am going to guess the reviewer was predisposed to liking the iPad so I am guessing there was some bias in the video but the one thing that was most interesting to me was the fact that the OS on the surface base model took up half of the on board memory.
I thought that was a rather shocking revelation, myself. You buy a Surface with 32GB of storage, and half of that is already in use by the OS when you take it out of the box. 16GB of operating system.

iOS 6 takes up less than 3 gigabytes.

Good points, Neal.

I don't think zax understands it that way, but then he's traveling at near the speed of light and therefore, from his accelerated plane of existence, can't see the entire field of past development up to the time of Surface space. To him, all things Surface are first time events preceded by the Big Bang of Microsoft innovation, which just recently happened.

Kids, and the ladies, are excellent measures of society's proximal adaptation of gizmos. The certainty of continued success by the time that point is achieved is axiomatic.
