Back during the Walker recall here in Wisconsin, I used to say it was nice that the Koch Brothers and the rest of Walker's anonymous out-of-state rich guy backers were pumping money into Wisconsin media, but it'd be nicer if they backed Walker by actually creating some jobs. But a lot of the money went to out-of-state political consulting and production firms, and I think that most of the TV stations have out-of-state ownership too, so I don't think there was all that much local stimulus.

I supposed it's more stimulating than rich guys dumping more money into hedge funds and other financial engineering efforts, though. Or "investing" in random offshore funds in the Romney fashion. It is relatively hard to outsource campaign efforts overseas, though the Mitten did make an effort on Adelson's behalf.
