I tell you why, I-node....because the people are SOFT. not just the people that lost everything but people around do not help as much because they actually believe that big brudder is going to take care of their neighbors.

WHen we get guvit out of our lives then neighbor will start to help neighbor again.

The suffering that goes on -- because people don't have essentials like food & water -- I just can't understand. Even though there may not be much access to ground transportation, I would think it would be simple enough to chopper a sufficient supply of basics in to allow people to get by. It is something about bureaucracy I'll never be able to comprehend.

Do you believe your own BS? Silent Z just posted tonite that things are going very well on the ground in NY. NJ has a gas shortage because refineries were flooded or they need electrical power......but that's expected to abate in the next few days. There is food and water everywhere in NJ except in the areas that were most effected by floods. Seaside, NJ which took one of the biggest hits is like NOLA........below sea level....and they are having to pump the water out. Ditto with Hoboken, NJ. Where there was flooding, either sand has been left on the roads making access difficult or roads have been wiped out completely.

As for Staten Island, its a frigging island. While there are bridges from Brooklyn and NJ, access is more limited than to other parts of NYC. Hence it takes longer to get supplies into the borough. This AM they had marathon runners who were supposed to run the marathon take supplies into the borough. First they got on a ferry and then ran the supplies to various destinations.

Nonetheless, things are getting better........power is back on in many locations. Many subway lines are back up. Gas is limited and will be for another week but that shortage will end soon enough.

So quite your desperation crap........stop trying to prove the FEMA response to Sandy is worse than Katrina. Ice and water bottles and gas supplies would have to be ending up in TX instead of Jersey and NY for that to happen. And it ain't happening. Obama runs a much better gov't than Bush did. Its a fact.
