The greater differentiators defining the market are The OSs and the price points. The size of the screen is secondary, so comparisons and contrasts between Surface and mini iPad are inevitable along with projections of their respective sales.

The adjective "different" is a given across all the various platforms. "Lazy analysis" would include the use of this term in an attempt to invalidate a comparison.

e.g. "Not true. This is different."

iPad mini is a different market than surface. iPad is different than the mini also. Saying that ipad4 will make it hard for surface is reasonable, not iPad mini. That shows lazy analysis.
I agree completely, Sandeep.

"iPad mini is a different market than surface. iPad is different than the mini also. "

We don't have enough data to make the conclusion that the mini and larger iPads do not compete with each other. Even on this thread, there are folks saying they prefer the mini. My gut says that the cannibilization effect of the mini is not negligible, although it certainly didn't help that Apple rolled up the iPad (4th Gen) and iPad Mini launch figures together.
