jack, they showed a special on ABC last week about it.
The sales on the presaios is below the 40k and the biggest band is
40k-60k...
The 40-60(working middlecass) .I'm sure that if look at the 20k mom. she's credit carding the low cost.
If I didn't already have two great pentiums i would be buying the
p200mmx now for 1199.
there was an article on the salary break out.
I'll post it.
it showed the the working middle class were first majority and a good group of the working single parent.

Dell's earnings analysis (Dataquest):
Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today reported record revenues for the fifteenth consecutive quarter. Revenues for the quarter ended November 2, 1997, were nearly $3.2 billion, an increase of 58 percent over the third quarter last year. Net income rose 71 percent over the year-ago quarter to $248 million, and earnings per share increased 77 percent to $0.69 compared with $0.39 a year ago.

On a unit shipment basis, Dell continued to grow at more than three times the industry rate during the quarter. This enabled the company to capture the number two market position in the U.S. for the first time, according to Dataquest. Dell maintained its number three market position worldwide.
