I made an assumption there.. Nature doesn't care ... of course change and innovation comes from , is initiated by the individual, My smartphone is a freedom machine... said it before on SI.. for many though it is another form of enslavement.. for many the net is just another entertainment vehicle.. degrees of freedom certainly rings true in certain communities.. just look at this one.. disparate yet all here are more empowered it seems..all (most ??) here have however certain qualities that make that so.. Mq is correct that life is getting easier for many as tech rolls on and cyberspace joins us .. whether that is meaningful (generally positive) beyond keeping folks in line is open for debate I think.. (I am reminded when I think of the net of the one ring in LOTR )
