November surprise: EPA planning major post-election anti-coal regulation

President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency has devoted an unprecedented number of bureaucrats to finalizing new anti-coal regulations that are set to be released at the end of November, according to a source inside the EPA.

More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. The independent and non-partisan Manhattan Institute estimates that the EPA’s greenhouse gas coal regulation will cost the U.S. economy $700 billion.

The rush is a major sign of panic by environmentalists inside the Obama administration. If Obama wins, the EPA would have another four full years to implement their anti-fossil fuel agenda. But if Romney wins, regulators will have a very narrow window to enact a select few costly regulations that would then be very hard for a President Romney to undo.

Environmentalists at the EPA pulled this trick before in 2000 when the Clinton administration rushed out a finding that Mercury emissions from power plants were a growing public health threat pursuant to the Clean Air Act. That finding did not regulate power plants itself, but it did force the Bush administration to begin a lengthy regulatory process. The Obama EPA has estimated that this regulation alone will cost the U.S. economy $10.9 billion a year.

Reached for comment, Romney spokesman Ryan Williams said:

President Obama won’t tell the voters of the Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania the truth about his plans to shut down the coal industry. Even after he loses on Tuesday, it appears that the President will still try to continue his efforts to kill their jobs and drive up their energy prices. Mitt Romney is committed to reversing the damage caused by the Obama Administration’s disastrous liberal agenda as soon as he takes office.

Greetings, my friends! I am writing to you from Jasper National Forest in Alberta, Canada. The Internet signal here is a little shaky, but it works. My wife and I drove up and we're vacationing here until at least mid-November. It's not as cold here as one would expect, but colder weather and more snow are on the way soon.

Just a few thoughts on the election tomorrow

Obviously, Romney will win handily. Even many prominent leftist newpapers, columnists, and politicians, both Black and White, have acknowledged this fact in various ways and to varying degrees. For some time now, the writing has been clearly on the wall.

The distorted polls will be exposed tomorrow as will the affirmative-action tools of fraud that they are based on. Polls that show Obama winning are based on ridiculous assumptions about who will vote, rather than empirical facts about who who will vote. Of course, the media will use the fraudulent polls as a way to declare that the election was stolen and that all Blacks should take action to avenge Obama. Countless Blacks have already vowed terrorism

As soon as the election results are official tomorrow night, we must look to the future of our once-great nation and take concrete steps to revive our country. I've repeatedly posted a baker's dozen steps that must be taken, but here are the most important three..

-- All affirmative action and other race-based laws must end. Any law that forces decisions based on race is completely unconstitutional. To that end, civil rights laws must be abolished as well, because they are racist in nature, scope, and application.

-- The central bank must be dissolved and the gold standard reimplemented. The fiat currency (clownbuck) must be permanently abolished and tied to gold, without conditions.

-- All illegals and their descendants must be found and deported, regardless of age.

These items are critical out-of-the-gate issues for Mitt Romney and the new Congress, all of which must be solved correctly.

Of course, Obamacare must go, the current tax code must go, welfare and all forms of socialism must end, and the vast majority of the federal government must be permanently closed. The Founders intended for the government to work for us and represent us, not to become a dominating force that controls all aspects of our lives! The Constitution must be observed as it was written and intended, not as it has been twisted, misinterpreted, and ignored by biased leftists!

Godspeed to Mitt Romney and all conservatives in this forum! Let's savor the big win, and then let's repair the future!

Cheers,
John
